Sue Mitchell asks about issues moving up to Maker 7 with FDK tools that were made in FDK 5.5 Actually, there are more problems associated with Maker 6.0 than with 7.0 in this context. Maker 6.0 changed the book window and functionality - for example there are new volume and chapter variables. Also, I believe Find/Replace via the FDK is more robust in 6.0. If your tools don't touch on the new things, then you should have no problem. I actually have plenty of tools I made for 5.5, and they work on 6.0 and 7.0 without recompiling or modification. The FDK also ships with a flag you can set to make the FDK behave like an older version. So you could take your source code, just set the flag to 5.5, then compile in the 7.0 FDK. Fortunately, the changes in 6.0 and 7.0 are not "deep" changes - they don't change existing structures in fundamental ways. Instead, they add to existing structures (for the most part) or else they add entirely new structures. So your old tools will not use any of the new properties - your old tools won't take advantage of setting up XML structure applications - your old tools won't be trying to decide whether to write PIs in SGML or XML syntax...
