I guess I don't understand your problem. And I'm not sure what you mean by "the color prints as solid." Do you mean that it incorrectly prints at 100% of the original Pantone color rather than the tinted version of that color which you created, or do you mean something else by "solid"? Although you didn't mention which version of FrameMaker you have, I assume it's 6.0. Here's how you define the new color: First, You choose View > Color > Definitions. Let's say you then pick Pantone Yellow 012 CVC from the Pantone Coated library. Then, you select Tint in the Print As slot, and set the Tint to 25%. If you are elsewhere using Pantone Yellow 012 CVC at 100%, you should change the name of the new color to something like "TableTintYellow." Now, you click ADD. Here's how you apply the tinted version of the Pantone color to all or parts of a table: If you want to apply the new color to entire rows or columns in some alternating fashion, you'd use the Table Designer's Shading panel to specify the new color, TableTintYellow, at 100% fill. If you want to apply the new color to selected table cells, columns or rows, you'd choose Table > Custom Ruling & Shading, select the adjacent row(s), column(s), or cell,(s) to be tinted, and apply the new color at 100% fill to the selected parts of the table. When I follow the above procedure on my system, the tinted version of the Pantone color is correctly applied to the table, and the tinted color prints faithfully.
