The problem is effectively gone with Acrobat 5.0.5 and Acrobat Reader 5.0.5. Cause of the problem is FrameMaker (all versions) not filtering out non-printable characters generating PDFMark for the bookmarks in the output PostScript stream. Acrobat 5 began use of a Windows system font for display of bookmarks for which non-printable characters yield the .notdef character (the "box"). Acrobat and Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 put its own filter in for common, non-printable characters. Get the 5.0.5 update and the problem should be gone. - Dov At 2/11/2002 07:29 AM, Lester C.
