Hi,
A metatemplate is a template about other templates. In FM+SGML, a
metatemplate is a template for EDDs. Although most EDD developers
use the metatemplate that comes with FM+SGML, it is possible to
modify the metatemplate by changing its formatting and adding
additional documentation elements. Text Structure Consulting's
recently updated metatemplate is available at
    http://www.txstruct.com/MetaTemplate
(case is significant). This directory contains the files:

1) edd.tpl--the FM+SGML 5.5.6 metatemplate
2) edd6.tpl--the FM+SGML 6.0 metatemplate
3) test.edd--a sample EDD using the metatemplate
4) MetaEDD.edd--the EDD for the metatemplate
5) MetaTemplate.zip--a zip file containing the other 4 files

MetaEDD.edd has comments that enumerate the various changes between
this metatemplate and the original one.

Changes in this version include:

a) Color is used to distinguish element definitions for containers
for those of graphics, tables, cross-references, etc. Instead of
assigning colors in the meta-EDD, colors called Table, Marker,
Equation etc. are now defined in the metatemplate. Users can
therefore change the color scheme just by editing definitions of
   these colors.

b) The Comments element is now permitted in many contexts in addition
to the beginning and end of an Element.

There are no known problems with this metatemplate, but there was a
significant amount of editing in this version and it is possible
some bugs were introduced. Let me know if you run into any problems
and I will try to fix them quickly.
