First, are you sure the console messages are "new"? You should clear the console window contents between updates so that you're not confused by previous messages from the same FM session. > 2. I have turned OFF the "Remember Missing Font Names" > 5. I have saved both the book and a couple of files as MIF files to search > for "ABC", but to no avail. Based on your description, I would assume the problem lies buried somewhere which only can be found by examining the MIF. But be aware of two things: 1. If you let FM substitute the fonts, saving the files as MIF won't let the original font be found, since it's already been substituted! You need to Remember Missing Fonts for this to work. 2. The font name present in the MIF may not be exactly the same font name displayed in the console window. Make sure to search only for a significant part of the family name, e.g. Bazooka, not BazookaNew-Roman. > Yes, at one time (two years ago), "ABC" was used, but no longer. This could be a problem with no longer used catalog definitions stored in the book file itself. You may need to save the original version of the book file with non-substituted fonts to MIF, and manually erase all catalog and X-ref definitions. For more information, see: http://w1.184.telia.com/~u18407300/fonts/unavailable.html#books > I use EPS graphics exclusively and I'll be willing to bet that that is where > the culprit lays. I seriously doubt that, since the problem should show up as soon as you open a file with such EPS graphics and display a page with an EPS. Simply updating the book has nothing to do with EPS graphics, unless your generated files also contain them. BTW, do you by any chance delete the generated files between updates? _____________________________________________ Thomas Michanek, FrameMaker/UNIX/MIF expert Technical Communicator, Uppsala, Sweden mailto:Thomas.Michanek@xxxxxxxxx http://go.to/framers/ (updated April 7) _____________________________________________ Join the "Free Framers" mailing list: send an email to majordomo@xxxxxxxxx with "subscribe framers" in the body ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@xxxxxxxxx ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
