the "paranum", rahter than the "paranumonly" building block.

The difference between these is that "paranum" extracts the entire
content of the autonumber string, including prefixing/suffixing text
(such as the word "Appendix") while the "paranumonly" extracts only
the numbering itself (and any embeded characters, such as dashes or
periods).

So, either modify the existing one or create a new cross-reference
format for the page number that uses "paranumonly" to get just the
"A" (or "B" ....) to use as the 'prefix' before the page number.

| I created the paragraph tags AppendixTitle with "Appendix <A=1> - " in the
| autonumber format.  Then I created the paragraph tab AppendixTitleNext with
| "Appendix <A+1> - " in the autonumber format.  However, this causes the word
| Appendix to appear in the page number (created with a cross reference to the
| appendix paragraph number).  When I take the word Appendix out of the
| autonumber format, the document  title appears as "A - appendix title" & I
| cannot add the word Appendix in front of the letter A.
