Greetings, (FM 556, Win95, ATM Deluxe 4.0, AdobePSDriver 4.2.6, Distiller 3.02, Acrobat Exchange 3.01) We ran into an interesting problem and I think it will be useful to post our (very simple) solution. PROBLEM: Document contains some anchored text frames that contain text rotated 90 degrees (thus vertical). Printed document to PS file and distill to PDF. YES I DID IT CORRECTLY! :) The PDF file (and also printed PS files that were printed to PS using the ppds appropriate for said printers) were missing the vertical (rotated) text. The (fixable by us) CAUSE is that the particular font that was used for the rotated text was not "activated" all the time in ATM. FM DID successfully auto-activate the font when FM started. However, some other element of the process (the PS driver??) was apparently not activating or finding the font. SOLUTION: Close relevant applications. Open ATM, activate said font. Restart relevant applications, recreate PS file, distill again, everything is now wonderful. Happy Holidays. Jay -- Jay Smith e-mail: Jay@JaySmith.com Jay Smith & Associates P.O.
