My guess is that Jay is right. Versions of AdobePS < 4.3 have a 256 page restriction. Richard claims to use "Type 1 TT fonts". What is that? Sounds like you are sending TrueType fonts on your system to Acrobat as Type 1 unhinted outlines? If you are using Acrobat 4.0 or are not using Acrobat at all, upgrade the driver to AdobePS 4.3.1. This will solve your problem ASAP. And if your output device(s) supports it, change the driver setting to send to "Send TrueType fonts as Type 42!" Much better quality with Acrobat and with printers that indeed natively support TrueType as Type 42. (Note that creating PDF files with TrueType as Type 42 does NOT restrict you from printing such PDF files on printers that don't provide that support. Acrobat provides the proper conversion at print time, if necessary!) If you are using Acrobat 3.0x and you are indeed using TrueType fonts, you CANNOT update your driver to AdobePS 4.3.1. I would NOT advise use of the old Windows 3.x driver (AdobePS 3.1) with Windows'9X. Too unreliable. Best bet would be to upgrade to Acrobat 4.05. - Dov At 11/17/99 12:13 PM , Jay Smith wrote: >Richard, > >I would be very surprised if the reasons for "Printing Canceled" have >anything to do with the things that you changed in the document. > >I hope that you saved a COPY of the original FINISHED version of the >file that would not print to PS. > >You gave lots of great detail on your environment, but you did not >mention some important items: > >1) To create this PS file, what DRIVER are you using > >2) What PPD are you using for that driver. > >3) What is the intended purpose of the postscript file (i.e. to Distill >for PDF, or is it a "print file" that will be sent to an output device). > >MY GUESS is that you are using Adobe PS Driver 4.2.x.
