Ever since I've used FM, I've always kept the files for a single book in ONE folder (Windows user). Although I know it is POSSIBLE to have abook file point to files in multiple folders, it always seemed like a file-management nightmare. I'm facing the prospect of a document containing some chapters that must be in a different folder from the book file itself and most of the other individual chapters. My instinct tells me that this approach will work, provided the relative locations, folders, and filenames remain the same (otherwise the book file must be repaired or re-created). I'd be interested to hear if anyone has had any experience with this and be willing to share it. (Background: The powers that be have decided to reorganize the network folder/file structure for the company; I want to be prepared to state all the consequences).
