John,

What you are seeing is the result of a terrible mismatch between the
way the AdobePS 4.2.x driver works and the internal operation of
Acrobat Exchange with its text touchup tool.

What is actually happening?

Even though you think you are embedding Comic Sans via the driver,
the driver is embedding a subset of the font using a very non-standard
encoding that is not communicated to Acrobat Exchange in combination
is a non-standard font name. Thus, when you try to edit, you get the
very strange message you do.

The good news is that this is fully fixed by the combination of
Acrobat 4 and AdobePS 4.3. The latter will be released within the month
(I hope).
