We are working on a project to convert documents from Interleaf to FrameMaker. We were actually hired to clean up the FrameMaker files that Blueberry's Filtrix conversion tool produced. However, we are finding that the Filtrix output needs a lot of clean-up. The legacy documents are many thousands of pages long and cleaning up the files by working through them page by page is going to be really tedious. There has to be a better way. We are considering building our own filter to convert the IAF files to MIF. Does anyone have any experience with this and any words of advice? Also, so far we haven't been able to lay our hands on specs. for IAF files. Does anyone know where to find those? I should also mention that we want our FrameMaker files to be very clean and consistent as we also want to create a push-button solution for converting them (both the legacy docs. and future docs.) to HTML. We are looking at using WebWorks Publisher to do this.
