Timesavers basically uses the same mechanism (pdfmark code), but it makes it more practical and convenient by allowing you to use FrameMaker Hypertext markers with special syntax. Timesavers includes Distiller prologue and epilogue files that "intercept" the marker text and replace it with pdfmark code. The end result is that Acrobat fields are created on the fly as the document is converted to PDF. I have used Timesavers for years and highly recommend it.
