Simply putting step 1 before step 2 does not convey the need to reiterate 
steps 2 and 3 before the fonts are forgotten.

Perhaps this differs between platforms, but I don't think so:  the default 
setting (in maker.ini on Windows, I guess, but in, for example, 
fminit/xresources/Maker on Solaris) applies to the setting of "Remember..." 
for newly created files, but doesn't affect the setting in already existing 
files.
