You are correct in assuming the ps files eventually get turned into 
pdfs. But between my creating the ps file and our production system 
turning it into a pdf, we perform some customization of the file (each 
file has the eventual recipient's email and contact info...the 
production system replaces the placeholder values for this information 
with actual addresses and other info...and this happens for over 50,000 
individual subscribers). So I cannot create the pdf directly.

It seems like a bug that FrameMaker does not remember the "Generate 
Acrobat Data" setting for files printed to ps. Is there a reason it 
would do this intentionally?
