Roger, You need to set text smoothing "on". Right click anywhere on your desktop and select "Properties". Then click the "Appearance" tab and then the "Effects" button. Make sure the box is checked for "Use the following method to smooth screen fonts" and select Standard if a CRT, CoolType if an LCD. Then OK your way back to the desktop. - Dov At 3/6/2003 12:47 AM, Roger Jones wrote: >Dear Fellow Framers > >Windows XP, FM 7 > >I have just started using FM 7 on Windows XP, having installed everything in Dov's recommended sequence. I have transferred a bunch of ATM PostScript fonts from my old 98SE system, installing them with ATM 4.1 Lite, and the display quality is inferior on XP, i.e. I can see the jaggies. I am using the same 19" monitor on XP as I used on the 98SE system; when installing it, XP called for and installed what it considered to be the correct up-to-date driver. > >Secondly, EPS files imported by reference are slower to display than on the old 98SE system, in spite of the XP system having 512 RAM (128 on 98SE) and a much faster hard disk. The video adapter is an NVIDIA 64Mb DDR GeForce3 Ti 200. > >Are these problems shared by others or am I alone? > >All the best >Roger Jones, Terra Publishing -- Booth 3, EGS/AGU/EGU in Nice >http://www.terrapublishing.net >PO Box 315, Harpenden, Herts AL5 2ZD, England >Tel.: +44 (0)1582 762413 Fax: +44 (0)870 055 8105 ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
