There are fouler things than Word in the deep places of the world. Poor performance in one tool is not any sort of justification for slow performance in another, but I've recently opened a wimpy 400 page book in Frame 5.5.6 in a few seconds. After converting it to SGML modules and opening it in Arbortext Epic 4.2.1 on a server with considerably more RAM, it takes anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes. I haven't tried FM 7.0, but isn't it also "bloated" with all the powerful SGML stuff now? SGML tools have more power, but they do not always "go fastah". Just remember--you could be using Word to open those 200 (or 2,070 (ye gods!!)) files. ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
