I believe it is the Yen character (Y = Japanese Money Symbol). I remember having a problem with my bullets changing to Y in Frame when I installed 5.5 on a Win2000 machine. The fix then wish to download the 5.5.6 upgrade. I don't think I have every had this problem on the MAC. Sorry I know this does not answer your question. But at least you know what the character is now. Why should this happen all of a sudden? The only OS change was to install Frame 7; I'm still using v6 (Mac OS9.1) I know a thread ensued on this sort of problem recently but I don't know its name or that character's name; here's hoping some kind soul who does will pop me a reply so Monday morning I'll have some informed ammunition to attack this problem.
