Visual Thought: how to make attractor shapes?

All:

A cheap (free) vector-graphics program called Visual Thought allows to make
shapes that connect to other shapes. It is free because Confluent, the
software house responsible, shut its doors. VT1.4 is still available for
download at various sites -- search in Google for 'confluent visual thought
download' to find them.

Ordinary connections connect objects at their centres, so when a number of
connections converge they form a fan in which it is hard to distinguish
connections.

'Attractor' shapes connect on their perimeters and connections snap to the
nearest connection point: either a vertix or the midpoint of a side.

There is a small palette of attractor shapes but these are insufficient for
my needs. Does anybody know how to change ordinary shapes into attractor
shapes?

Is this query (shudder) off-topic? No way. Visual Thought can save its
graphics as MIF! 8^)
