Len,

Most likely, the cause of these phantom fonts is they are "resident"
fonts in your printer. (NOTE: Avant Garde is not a standard Windows
font, but is commonly in PostScript printers, for example.)

The solution is to edit out all fonts except Courier (if you remove that
line, the driver stops working) from the PPD files in directory
C:\WINNT\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86 .
Then delete all the .BPD files in that same directory. Phantom fonts
go bye-bye.

PS: There is no PostScript driver option to do this!
