Actually, you DO have Type 1 versions of Times New Roman,
Arial, and Symbol on your system. Assuming that you have
installed Acrobat in the default location, look in:

        C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 5.0\Resource\Font

That's where they are. What is unusual is that they are
getting into your PDF file if in fact you are also getting
the TrueType version in as well. What version of Acrobat
are you using? If you have a small sample of the problem,
please send to me off-list.
