Stupid question, I'm sure...

But I can't seem to find an answer.

I am making a LOF which looks just fine except that I can not get it to
sort properly, or at least the way I want.

The figure tag looks like this: (Autonumber) F:Figure <n+>.\t

I would like the output to be:

A...
B...
C...

I.e., alphabetical by the caption of the figure. But what it does is list
them by the number of the figure which makes no sense if you are trying to
find a particular subject's pix.

It is not displaying the running "Figure X." at least, but it is a hodge
podge of V before A with C after E, etc.

I've played all the tricks I can think of and have looked around and I
can't find a reference to this that works.

Any clues?

TIA
