Re: Limits on Flow Tags?

To answer the autonumber question: any printable character (single characters
only), followed by a colon constitutes a Series Label for an autonumber
sequence. Remember, FrameMaker is case-sensitive so upper case and lower case
letters are allowed, but are "different".

As for other tag names, I think the answer is 255. That's what it is for most
names in FrameMaker. The practical limit, however, is whatever fits nicely in
the status bars and dialog boxes.

Subject: Limits on Flow Tags?

Couldn't find an answer to this in the help files, or in Thomas
Neuberger's very helpful book:

What are the limits on flow tags? I. e., number of characters
permitted, and *which* characters? (Only UC? Only alphanumeric?)

I would also be interested in the limits on other tags, incl.
autonumbering as well.

I have a vague memory of a useful discussion (by Fred Ridder?)
regarding the limits on tags for autonumbering and thought I had
saved it, but can't find it now.

Many thanks.
