FrameMaker has its own 8-bit character set, where a number of character positions are reserved (or locked) for internal use. If a font uses these positions, those characters will be lost or replaced. At this moment, I don't have a complete and accurate list, but you can get some information by looking in the online manual "FrameMaker Character Sets" (available in the Help menu in FM 5.5.6, buried in the installation in FM6, and seriously flawed in FM6 unless you have downloaded a new version from Adobe's website; see http://go.to/framers). The "ANSI no." not listed there may be reserved and unusable, even though not everyone of them actually are (as reported by others). I hope this helps to get you started. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Thomas Michanek, Technical Writer IAR Systems AB, Sweden: http://www.iar.com mailto:Thomas.Michanek@iar.se Tel: +46 18 167800, Fax: +46 18 167838 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
