RE: tracking changes...



I don't know of any way to make FM spit out a report that summarizes
changes. But you can use the Compare Documents command to mark the
differences between two docs. It uses the Added and Deleted conditional
text. The command is in File > Utilities. There is also a Track Changes
plug-in at http://www.intech.com/solutions/ that does the samae thing but
adds a lot more flexibility.

I need to update a guide that is approximately 40 pages long.  What I want
to do is track all my changes, page by page, paragraph by paragraph, and
then have those changes documented precisely so that I can hand off an
organized list of changes to the localization department.
I'm envisioning something like this:

Page 11, Paragraph 2:  changed: "Click the Details button to learn more
about the settings" to "Click the drop-down list to check the settings"

Is there a way that I can do this in FrameMaker?   If not, is there an
add-on tool that I can get that will allow me to do so?
