Seems to me that the ideal solution is to break out the PDF Setup and Doc Info categories as separate checkable items in the "Import Formats" dialog. The mere fact that Adobe implemented this the way they did suggests that it's a good idea _sometimes_. As is so often the case, the fundamental design issue is that users should be able to control what happens to their documents. My $0.02, anyway. (Remembering that the $Aus isn't worth the plastic it's printed on...)
