Re: Shaded text within a paragraph (not in a table cell)

I think you want to create text that's in a shaded or colored area, yes? To
shade a whole paragraph at a time you can do this:
1. Create an anchored frame and put a text frame in it.
2. Put the text in the text frame.
3. Select the anchored frame and use the graphics palette to give it the
desired fill.
4. Move the text frame until your text is positioned nicely in the shaded box
created by the anchored frame.

If you need to do that many times, you can save the anchored frame/text frame
combo to a reference page or "reference file, sans text. Then you can just copy
it when you need it.

Unfortunately, it sounds as though you want to shade only part of a paragraph,
so there's no good answer. There's a complicated way that's probably not worth
it: click in the paragraph where the shading should begin and create an
anchored frame At Insertion Point. Draw a text frame in it and put the
text-to-be-shaded in the text frame. Select the anchored frame and give it the
desired fill. If necessary, apply Bring to Front to the text frame. Also, you
can microposition either the anchored frame or the text frame by selecting it
and using Alt plus arrow keys. Of course, the anchored frame doesn't break for
line endings, so you've got an uneditable paragraph.
