Re: Very Urgent help needed

Greetings Framers,

There are two effective solutions to this problem:
1. Build some "homegrown" crop marks with the FrameMaker graphics tools and carefully position them where you need them (if you're on Windows).

or

2. Generate the same document, same Frame version on a Mac with registration marks.

Both will give you a smaller PDF file.

The registration marks generated by FrameMaker 5.5.x and later are highly detailed and usually more than what are required by a print vendor. On Windows, the GDI mechanism to which FrameMaker PostScript printing is chained to, creates raster graphics for each of these little dooligigs you see in the registration marks---contributing immensely to PDF file size.

The semantics in my distorted, biased mind: registration marks consist of all sorts of circles and concentric targets to help identify issues with color plates while crop marks are merely cute renditions of the capital letter "L" at the page corners.

Best regards,
Jason

I am using FrameMaker 6.0 and when I generate pdf output I get an output
with the file size of 20 MB whereas the previous version of the pdf file
is 10 MB.

Why is this happening and how do I correct this problem.
