Hello Furia, Chapnum variables can be alphabetic, and all of the other forms that counters can take. The chapnum format is set for the first chapter whose number is set explicitly (for example, Chapter 1 and Appendix A). Subsequent chapters increment that numbering and use that format. If you're having trouble and you're on a Windows system, first reboot and reload Frame (to clear OS resources issues), then check the setting for your Chapter 1, updating the format if necessary.
