Actually, a Maker table *will* break across pages, but one row will not. If you don't mind keeping entire rows on a page, then a two-col table should be fine. Have you tried (gulp) tabs? Or RunIn Heads for col1, and massive indents for col 2? Another approach - If you DO NOT use side heads for any other purpose, set up a side-head area to account for your first column. Then use pgf formatting to utilize side head stuff for this type of information... All other pgf formats must span columns and sideheads. The best solution depends on the details of your situation.
