Why go to the lengths of > >having funny empty paras or special formats? > ======================================================== > There are a number of reasons. Here are three: Here are three more: 4. If you, or someone else, decide to globally update formats by using the Paragraph Designer, there's no option to keep page break overrides. You're informed that there are overrides, but you either have to keep them all or delete them all. 5. When you edit a document and the content shifts, so does the page breaks. If you use page break overrides, you may miss the fact that a page break that now appear slightly too early is because of such an override, and you forget to change it. If you, for instance, use a colored page break tag, you will much easier spot the manual page breaks that need to be corrected. 6. Suppose your manual page breaks are indications of some structure in your document that you wish to keep or transfer when you generate a list or TOC, or when converting to another format. If that's the case, you can use the PageBreak format to accomplish this, if you don't want to use special tags indicating "top of page" status. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Thomas Michanek, [Michagon], Linkoping, Sweden FrameMaker/UNIX/MIF/scripting expert EMAIL: mailto:Thomas.Michanek@telia.com WWW: http://go.to/framers , or go directly to: http://w1.133.telia.com/~u13304072/framers * U P D A T E D O N J U N E 2 6 * - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@omsys.com ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
