Re: updating unresolved cross-references isn't working

"Had" to rename it? You didn't have to rename it if you had adopted some
more appropriate file naming convention that doesn't rely on something as
volatile as chapter numbers. Suppose, for instance, you use a particular
chapter file in several different books, and the chapter number is different
in each book.

Did you read the instructions on page 164 of the V5.5.6 User's manual? If
not, try following those instructions. Regardless of the outcome, the lesson
you should have learned from this experience is not to change filenames just
because a chapter has been added or deleted.
