Actually, I would never recommend ZIP for "monochrome" images. CITT Group 4 should work just fine. We know of no problems associated with that compression either in distillation and/or display in Acrobat or Reader. I suspect that there is another variable that you haven't tracked down yet. - Dov At 3/15/2004 06:13 AM, Long, Michael wrote: >Dov, > >Taking clues from your query, and Peret's Tips for PDFs, we corrected the problem by changing the Distiller job option for Monochrome Images Compression to ZIP from CCITT Group 4. I have only the vaguest notion what the difference is between them, and no notion of why one setting seemed to work with Word files but not with Frame 7 files, but the release is out and I have time to research it later. > >Thanks, > >Mike > >> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >> >> Date: Tue, 09 Mar 2004 18:25:26 -0800 >> From: Dov Isaacs <isaacs@xxxxxxxxx> >> Subject: Re: Graphics quality--book vs file >> >> The only "settings" that would make any difference for this >> would be the distillation joboptions in terms of downsampling >> and/or compression of images.
