Weird Adobe PDF docs

I have strange print-out problems with some PDF files
available from Adobe. Can someone confirm the problem?

Using Acrobat 4.05a on Windows 2000 SP1.
Printing to an HP LaserJet 4050 Series PS.
Printer instance created by the AdobePS Universal Installer
1.0.2 using the HP4050_7.PPD version 1.1.

Some PDF files downloaded from
http://www.adobe.com/products/framemaker/main.html
print out with strange font problems. Smaller headings in
bold and/or italic becomes plain with a few characters
in bold/italic. In text close to these headings, some
or many of the characters turn bold, seemingly randomly.

The PDF files look correct in Acrobat 4.05a and Acrobat
Reader 4.05; it's only the print-out that's a problem.
Other PDF files print OK, as does other documents.
The printer has been used for a long time without any
problems, and continue to work OK except for these PDFs.

The PDF file showing the weirdest print-out is the FAQ:
http://www.adobe.com/products/framemaker/pdfs/fm6_faq.pdf

It seems like the trouble-some PDFs were created using
InDesign 1.0 and Adobe PDF Library 4.16. PDFs created
using PageMaker look and print OK.

Does anyone else have print-out problems with these PDFs?

Thanks in advance,
