Rick,

Considering that a LaserJet 6MP is a 600x600dpi printer, you need at
least 4MB of memory to even have a single full frame buffer to hold
a single letter or A4 size page image + memory for PostScript VM. 
Anything less than 6MB memory on this printer is effectively a 
"bait-and-switch" configuration.

I personally would recommend no less than 8 to 10 MB of memory, total,
for this printer.
