Another issue is the mis-translation of high-ASCII characters (e.g., EM-Dash, degree symbol, etc., particularly if FrameMaker uses the Symbol or Dingbats font to produce those characters. Also, there's mistranslation of these characters the other way (i.e., from Word or RTF to FrameMaker binary or MIF.). I recently tested the latest version of Filtrix on a WIN NT machine, and found that these mistranslations are still present when, for instance, saving Word docs as RTF and then converting the RTF to MIF. The filters that come with Frame are also guilty of this. Anyone have a solution?
