Andrea asked about importing PowerPoint slides as individual GIF or JPEGs. I did this with GIFs recently and it did work to a point, but you should be aware that the export from PPT names the images "slidex" through however many you have. As long as you don't change the page numbers of any of your original slides, you'll be fine. However, if somebody forgets and adds in new slides where they should really go or deletes slides (as happened here), then you'll have a mess. If you don't have to go cross-platform, maybe the OLE method would be a better way to go.
