Dima et al, You are probably correct (you usually are!). My reason for keeping with Type 42 was that I was getting unreadable output using the other font options -- and I am presently without a Japanese translator, so I could not read many of the dialog box options. My final (?) solution is to supply Acrobat Reader 4 with the optional Japanese font pack to our Japanese clients and our printer. This seems to work on all language operating systems (certainly English and Japanese), and lets me use my small PDFs (7Mb vs 25Mb for online; and 12Mb vs 85Mb for print quality). The online version allows me to use bookmarks, jumps, search, etc, although the bookmarks only appear properly under Win95 Japanese. We still have to overcome the barrier of getting AcroReader 4 included in the CD installation in a very short time! And I don't know what little bugs will be waiting to bite me. I would appreciate any feedback from anyone who has been using Acro 4.
