HELP! We're encountering a problem when generating PostScript files (for PDF or, more importantly, for DocuTech). We'd be grateful for any suggestions: Problem ------- I am printing a FrameMaker book to PostScript for subsequent processing by a Docutech. A strange error appears only in headers and footers. I suspect that the error has little to do with the fact that it is in a header or footer, and much to do with the fact that it is in a variable (Running H/F 2) (which places the text of the last Heading1 paragraph in the footer). For some reason, the textual output of the PS file inserts extra space between the first letter of the text of the variable and the rest of the variable. For example in the following footer (a real example): ----------------------------------------------------------------------- C-8 J obstream Desriptions Blah blah blah... This footer is from an appendix. The page number variable (C-8) prints okay, but "Jobstream Descriptions" prints oddly. Note the spaces between the "J" in Jobstream and the subsequent text. This error is not consistent, i.e., it doesn't occur all the time (I haven't established a pattern) but it is very frequent. Other Notes ----------- - The document prints fine in hard copy to our PCL printer. - I recently (within the past few weeks) downloaded the latest Adobe PS driver. - I downloaded the Xerox Docutech 135 PPD from Xerox's site. - Am using a Windows 95 system, Frame 5.5.6 - This is not going to Acrobat. No, Acrobat is irrelevant. No, I am not Distilling (however, when I do distill the PS file I use Distiller 3.02, yes, the latest version, yada yada.... someone is going to forget that I am talking about preparing PS files for the Docutech....) Many thanks for any suggestions you may have.
