Thanks to all the Framers who answered my request. Yes, you can create multiple-book master indexes, and there are many people out there using this feature. Everybody who had created master indexes recommended the same approach: Set up one "master" book file that includes all the chapters from the individual books. Reset the page numbering in all the chapters to include the index prefix for that book. (One clever Framer recommends printing the index prefix on the spine of each separate book, as a location cue!) Generate an index from the master book file.
