Dear Framers, I need your help and recommendations. I've been asked to come up with recommendations for doc management software for our company -- in a hurry! I've been comparing products I heard about HERE... including the following: RevisionMaster QVCS (http://www/qumasoft.com) AuthorAssistant Can anyone give me any feedback on these products, or recommend any additional ones that you are crazy about? I've taken a good look at RevisionMaster, and like it, however, one of the other writers pointed out the low price of QVCS ($25 per license). However, I know of no one with any experience with it. AuthorAssistant appears to be aimed at FrameMaker specifically, and while we do have FM docs we also have Word and other docs, including graphics, etc. It is also a lot more expensive. Note: I won't be able to sell management on an expensive system. They think we should do it by putting "readme" files in each of the hundreds of document folders.... enough said. We have about 8 writers here and a zillion documents going through all phases of QA, beta, etc., and I am here to turn the miserable MS Word docs into FM docs and liberate everyone... but without doc management, it is going to be a nightmare. I welcome your thoughts... with thanks! Please respond to me directly; I will summarize to the list(s).
