Hello Framers: The FrameMaker conference is scheduled for Raleigh, NC this November 7-9. To help potential attendees get a feel for the presentations, this email contains information on one of the presentations that will be given. We plan to send these from time-to-time to intro you to speakers individually. If you are interested in attending, feel free to email me directly at mailto:kethier@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx or call 1.919.244.8559. Thank you, Kay Ethier Conference Manager Bright Path Solutions http://www.travelthepath.com/chat/chautauqua.html ============================================================================ ====== SPEAKER: RUSS WARD Russ Ward is an active technical writer and independent consultant with extensive structured FrameMaker experience. He presents and trains frequently on the software, and also develops advanced plugins for leveraging the value of structured documents. Russ' software, available at www.weststreetconsulting.com, allows powerful single-sourcing within the FrameMaker interface, using the structural markup to identify and process content. PRESENTATION TITLE: Leveraging the Power of Structure within FrameMaker: From "Real" Conditional Text to XSLT PRESENTATION DESCRIPTION: Structured FrameMaker has all rich markup of a basic XML document, with elements, attributes, hierarchies, and relationships. It makes sense, therefore, that advanced structure-based technologies should be applicable within the FrameMaker interface, even though a structured FrameMaker document is not "real" XML. Come see what you can really do with all that markup, including conditional text and text insets like they should be, and even advanced concepts such as XPath/XSLT, all without ever leaving Frame. If you are tired of looking at magenta-colored conditional text and that cryptic "In / Not In / As Is" business, this session is for you. Note that this session will have some, but not exclusive, focus on the commercial FrameSLT product offered by West Street Consulting, an XSLT emulator plug-in for Structured FrameMaker. SCHEDULE: This presentation is scheduled for November 9th, day 3 of the conference. ============================================================================ ====== ** To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@xxxxxxxxx ** ** with "unsubscribe framers" (no quotes) in the body. **
