Re: FrameMaker 2005 Chautauqua -- November 7-9, Raleigh NC USA

Bill,

This conference poses a "chicken or egg" quandary for many FrameMaker users.
If FrameMaker has a viable future beyond 7.1, then it will be of interest to
me. But if the future of FrameMaker means incremental updates to the same
core code (like the 7.0 and 7.1 upgrades), attending a conference like this
would be a huge disappointment. So I would be looking for some kind of
product announcement before committing to the conference.

This may be true, but I would prefer "truth in advertising" if this is
indeed the case. For those of us that have been around for awhile, there are
not many new tricks for us to learn with the old dog. I don't think I would
attend a "Life After FrameMaker" conference, either.

Hypocrite disclosure: My comments above are a reflection of me as a
FrameMaker user. As a developer of FrameMaker solutions, I would consider
attending the conference as a vendor or solutions provider, regardless of
future product announcements.

Also, my comments should not imply any knowledge of the conference other
than what Kay has posted. I am simply speculating about the speculation.
