Re: FM 7.1 version p114

Thomas,

The original question was whether there was a patch or updater for
FrameMaker 7.1 b023 and THAT was what I was responding to,nothing more
and nothing less. The official English release of FrameMaker 7.1 was b023.
Adobe has not at this point posted any patcher or updater for that version
to make it "match" any later build.

What is true is that a later build, 114, was used for the Japanese release
of FrameMaker 7.1, which also supports English, French, and German. And
that build has some bug fixes PLUS explicit support for wheeled mice.

We believe that the English "shrink wrapped" copies of FrameMaker 7.1
in the sales channel still contain b023. We are investigating as to whether
114 was or will be slip-streamed into production.

What you reporting vis-a-vis "replacement media" and support is fairly
accurate.

FrameMaker product management is investigating whether "new" FrameMaker 7.1
packages, other than Japanese, are now getting the newer build and whether
or how we can more readily make contents of the later build available to
users with b023. Without an existing patcher / updater, this would
require download of a full FrameMaker 7.1 install CDROM plus full product
reinstallation.

More to come when we have more concrete information.
