First you will need to add a few Frame features to InDesign. ;-)
You can't convert to what isn't there; another post recently
listed (some of) the Frame capabilities not found in InDesign.
The list was long, and the items listed were not trivial. Nor
were they things that could reasonably be added via plugins.
Truth is, InDesign was never meant to do Frame's job; it was
aimed at Quark, and suitable for upgrading from PageMaker.

If you really need to move content from Frame to InDesign,
you are probably best off to go via RTF. There are two RTF
exporters on the Frame SaveAs list, of which Japanese RTF is
generally the better; try them both. Our Mif2Go software
also produces Word RTF, and an unlimited time/size sample
version of that is downloadable from:
  http://www.omsys.com/dcl/download
where you should get samp33u37.zip or, soon, samp33u38.zip.

Actually, painful as it is to say it, *Word* is closer to
matching Frame's capabilities for TWs than InDesign is.
So we are modifying our Word RTF converter to support the
features needed for <gag> migration. We have already put
into our next upgrade (33u38) support for working Word
xrefs and hyperlinks, and are looking at doing more...
especially as requested by our customers.

You might also look at OpenOffice as a cross-platform
alternative. It has a ways to go, but at least it is
Open Source, and can't be strangled by its owner quite
as easily as Frame has been.

The best of luck to you! Please do let us all know what
you find after further investigation; I have a feeling
many of us will want to know. Thanks!

Mit freundlichen Grüßen
