Thread-Topic: Mailto in Frame and PDF
Richard, try the following: 1. In FrameMaker, select the text (jane@asconline.com) where the hypertext link is to be created. 2. Select Special>Hypertext. 3. At the Hypertext window, select the command (Message Client) from the Command drop-down list. This inserts "message" directly into the text field. 4. In the text field, enter "URL mailto:{e-mail address}" where {e-mail address} is the specific e-mail address (i.e., jane@asconline.com) to which the e-mail is to be sent. 5. Click New Hypertext Marker. 6. Save the file and create a .PDF file. -----Original Message----- From: Richard Melanson [mailto:richard.melanson.rm@us.agfa.com] Sent: Wednesday, June 18, 2003 3:26 PM To: framers@FrameUsers.com; framers@omsys.com Subject: Mailto in Frame and PDF Hello Framers, I want to be able to create a link in Frame that when in a PDF file will call an email program. Now I know that mailto: will do this in HTML, is this the same in Frame and PDF. I have tried adding the email link manually in the pdf file, but this opens not only the email program but also a browser, so I must be doing something wrong. Thank you everyone for your help.
