I see what you're saying; you did mention working with "very large FrameMaker files," didn't you? For me, that's not really an issue. My books are usually no more than 5-10MB (not including referenced graphics). I routinely open all the files in the book I'm working on; sometimes, all the files in two or three books. Yet, even with several other major apps running, I rarely have less than 200MB free physical memory (out of 512). Lucky me. :-) With much, much larger files, your suggestion will certainly help. But, I stand by my advice to upgrade to Win2k or WinXP Pro if at all possible. Much more stable. OTOH, there's Dave Barry's contrary opinion: "Calling Windows XP 'the most reliable Windows ever' is like calling asparagus 'the most articulate vegetable ever.'" ;-) Richard ------ Richard G.
