Let me complement Jim Drew's information:

Wasn't 2.1 the first version on Mac?

3.0 was announced in Q4 1991, released in early 1992 (Q1 and Q2).

Version 4.0 first released in Q3 1993.

There was a 5.0.1 bug correction release in October 1995.
Version 5.1 was still a Frame Tech. product, released in Jan/Feb 1996.
It wasn't until 5.1.1 that FM was branded Adobe (very soon after 5.1).
(Different people seem to claim/remember this differently, but
 I have a 5.1 release without a trace of Adobe...)

5.5 was released in August 1997.
