Background: We are trickling in new computers for my department (9-11 total computers over the next 3-6 months). As they come in, my IT department install the standard company software for networking, Office, etc. When I get the computer, I install the departmental software that only we use. FrameMaker 5.5.6 (going to 7 when all the computers are here), Acrobat 4.0.5a (going to 5.0.5 when all the computers are here), Photo-paint, etc. The first computer already had Acrobat 5.0.5 installed. I removed it, then followed Dov Isaac's instructions for installing Frame and other items in Windows 2000 boxes (the new OS, installed from factory). ATM 4.1 light, Universal postscript driver installer, Acrobat 4.0.5a, FrameMaker. Worked fine. In a case of brain freeze, I did not do this same procedure on the next two computers (came in at the same time). I left the Acrobat 5.0.5 installation on. Now, on these two computers it will not display in FrameMaker (or Word for that matter) the ZapfDingbats font (Type 1) properly. It instead displays the Wingdings font (Open type native to Win2000). The font will print properly and can be seen properly in the Character Map and font sample display, but when called though a program is substituted by Wingdings. It is more of an annoyance that a serious problem (it won't affect production so far), but I would like to correct it just incase something else I haven't seen yet is lurking to kill a deadline. Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Sean A.
