Subject: Opening Files Prompt Save Questions

This may sound like a silly question, but it's bugged me about FrameMaker for many YEARS! The condition I'll describe is/was relevant on all Windows platforms and all Frame versions back to 3 or 4 that I can remember. Many times, I open a document and even if I don't change anything, I'm prompted to save changes when I close it. This always rankles because if the document is open a long time, I don't remember if I changed anything or not. For my own version control needs, I don't want to blindly save "new revisions" each time. Date of file/revision is important to me. Is there a way to set up Frame so that only changes to the document itself will force a save? Or is this simply a bug that Frame and then Adobe decided to let fester during the past decade?
