RE: Everything I always wanted to know about AdobePS and PPD files but was afraid to ask



Adrian,

The advise to create a "dummy" PostScript driver instance was predicated
on problems between Acrobat 4.05 and Windows IF NO POSTSCRIPT DRIVER INSTANCE
was yet installed. In other words, you needed the dummy if you didn't already
have a driver instance for a real device. If you had a PostScript driver
instance already installed for a real device, no need to create that dummy
with the "generic" PostScript printer PPD.

The problem was fixed with Acrobat 5.
